Night time running is very dangerous. I always worry about potential attackers, and also getting caught with an illegal weapon.
So I carry a heavy metal torch...and then shine it in my face.

My mate use to go around with the lead to a kettle with the plug attached,he wrapped insulation tape around the plug and it was a fearful weapon.
And no the kettle wasn't still attached!
